How user research and accessibility thinking shaped an inclusive activity discovery app.

Dinàmics is an activity discovery app designed from the ground up around inclusivity, community and the simple joy of finding something to do nearby. Key interaction patterns were validated through usability testing, heatmaps and A/B comparisons.

Playful and approachable identity

Research first

We started with user interviews and competitive benchmarking to understand where existing solutions fell short. A recurring insight was hesitation around unfamiliar activities, which shaped one of our core product decisions: a contextual AI assistant, always visible and ready to help. Every major decision was then validated through A/B testing and heatmaps.

Building the Category System

The category system went through several iterations. We tested naming conventions, icon styles and groupings with real users before landing on eight intuitive categories that anyone, regardless of background or ability, could navigate instantly.

The Result

Finding the right tone was as important as finding the right UI. The app needed to feel approachable without being patronising. The final product feels approachable, intuitive and emotionally reassuring.
